Welcome to 'Voices of refugees', a series of radio features dedicated to giving a voice to young refugees/asylum seekers. It is produced by UWS Masters of convergent media student, Mina Samandar and aired on community radio station; 2ser 107.3FM on the Tuesday daily show weekly. The site offers free streaming of any of the features heard on air.
'Voices of refugees' was really a response to the misrepresentations and ludicrously shrill debate of refugees and asylum seekers in the public arena, given the comparatively low number of refugees seeking asylum in Australia. Politicians and the media paint genuine refugees as illegal immigrants and queue jumpers, which is completely unjustified.
